Bargains galore for New Zealand coach toursIt's the season for outstanding Early Bird discounts on New Zealand coach tours. They just keep coming! So if you are contemplating coming to New Zealand for a New Zealand coach tour, now is the time to book! The deals and seats are still available.
We’ve just been updating the deals on the New Zealand coach tours on our website and really, they are amazing!
Kirra’s outstanding 20 day Ultimate New Zealand itinerary, was NZ$7020, now just NZ$5970 per person, share twin. That’s a massive saving of NZ$1050!
These Ultimate itineraries are extra special. They travel off the beaten track to wonderful places like Whangamata on the Coromandel Peninsula, Hot Water Beach where you can dig your own hot pool in the sand, the seriously impressive Tongariro National Park (staying at The Chateau Tongariro Hotel – nice!), the gorgeous Abel Tasman National Park, funky Hokitika and beautiful Lake Wanaka.
These are all outstanding, but check this out – the tour overnights on the Milford Mariner and this is undoubtedly a trip highlight. The Milford Mariner nestles into a sheltered cove to anchor up for the night. The on-board dining is amazing (including NZ roast lamb for mains and pavlova for dessert!) but what is really special is the opportunity to paddle around this very remote bay in a kayak. You’ll love it.
Also very unique to these tours is the opportunity to hike the Hollyford Track Walkway. This guided hike is entirely optional and substitutes 2 nights in Queenstown. So you choose whether to have 3 nights in Queenstown, or 1 night Queenstown and 2 nights on the Hollyford. Spaces on these guided hikes are very limited so early bookings are highly recommended. Reasonable fitness is required as this is really and truly a remote hike into one of New Zealand’s most impressive scenic regions.
If your time frame doesn’t allow for 20 days, there is also a 13 day Ultimate Southern Highlights which is South Island only. The price is discounted by NZ$695, making the early bird price just NZ$3947 per person, share twin, including sightseeing, all breakfasts, most dinners.

Weather in Auckland was pretty miserable when we arrived but we braved the ferry to Waiheke to taste 10 different wines and some nice cheeses too.
We decided against going up sky tower when we realised there was nothing to see but clouds and mist.
Cyclone was making the whale watching difficult but we persevered and after 3 days of closed roads and boats not going out we managed to see a young humpback from a helicopter.
More helicoptering a few days later over the glaciers this time – wow!.
We drove many miles on twisty/turny mountain roads in rain and shine – we stopped to admire the views as we found them regardless of the weather . I have lots of photos of amazing views taken through the car windscreen accompanied by windscreen wipers!
We did have some amazingly beautiful days too – the view from our Queenstown room was fab especially as the sun set.
We did shotover jet when the river was pretty high which added to the fun – in fact they changed our time as they had stopped going out due to the river being so high – so that gave us just enough time to admire the views from the gondola. After that we did the trip on TSS Earnslaw – so a pretty full day.
We managed to find a fly/nature cruise/fly option to Milford sound and we had a perfect day for it weather wise – and I managed to bag the front seat on the way there – you were right – it is an amazing trip!
We finished the trip back in Auckland – thankfully the weather was better so we got great views from the skytower – we decided to go for it and do the skywalk – G is NOT a big fan of heights but he did it without passing out or screaming!
On the whole the motels/hotels were great – the woman at the Christchurch Motel welcomed us as her ‘refugees; and gave us a voucher for free wine at the restaurant that was within staggering distance – that was a nice touch.
We have come home with lots of amazing memories and even more photos to sort through and remind of what we did where and when – it’s already a bit of a blur.
Thanks again for you help in making it an amazing experience that we will always remember.
