All Inclusive Package
An all inclusive package is available for NZ$46 per day premium on the standard rental rates.  It includes:
*  Waiver of insurance excess on any vehicle and third party property damage
*  Camping table and chairs, baby seat or child booster seat(s) as required and snow chains where necessary. 
*  All one way fees are free of charge
* GPS navigation

Premium Class Vehicles
For an additional NZ$13 per day a motorhome of 18 months or less (from the date of the vehicle's first hire) will be guaranteed.   In the event that a prebooked Premium Class vehicle is not available the NZ$13 per day will be refunded, plus compensation of a further NZ$13 per day will be paid for every day that a Premium Class Vehicle is not provided. 

Rental Locations
Vehicle collection and return service centres are located in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Picton.

Client Service Centre Operating Hours
Monday - Sunday, including public holidays - 8.00am - 5.00pm
Closed Christmas Day.
Pick ups and drop offs must commence 30 minutes prior to closure.

Wellington and Picton Fees
Location fees no longer apply.

One way Rentals
One-way rentals are available between the 4 service locations which are Auckland, Wellington, Picton and Christchurch and are free of charge, but you must start and finish your hire at whichever branch is nominated on your rental agreement.   
A $250 one way fee applies for pick ups between 01 Oct and 31 March where the hire is under 7 days.   If you change your destination after you have picked up your vehicle, it must be authorised by Pacific Horizon management and a fee of up to NZ$750 may apply.

Driver's Licence
Hirer and driver must be over 21 years of age and have held a full licence for 1 year.  Licences must be sighted by motorhome check in staff prior to uplifting vehicle. Licences from approved countries or an international driver's licence are acceptable.  If your licence is not in English an authorised/official translation must be provided.  If you are a member of an automobile association bring your memebership card as you may be entitled to reciprocal benefits.

There is no charge for additional drivers.

Hire Period
The minimum hire is 5 days with the exception of 20 Dec - 10 Jan and NZ/Australia school holiday dates when it is 14 days. Collections are available from 8.00am onwards, with returns no later than 5.00pm. Days of hire are calculated as the number of actual calendar days you have the vehicle. 

No Pets Permitted
Sorry, pets and livestock are not permitted.

New Zealand Traffic Rules
The speed limit on the open road is 100kph (90 kph for 6 berth motorhomes).  80kph is the recommended limit for your motorhome.  In built-up areas the limit is 50kph.  A copy of the New Zealand Traffic Rules is supplied with your vehicle. Safety belts and child/baby restraints are required by law.  Please advise if there are children under 5 years old travelling.

Traffic Infringements
If you are penalised for breaking any traffic laws you are fully liable for any fines and/or administration costs.

Airport and Hotel Transfers
Our shuttle will pick you up from the airport, ferry or hotel and return you there.

Vehicle Security Deposit and Guarantee
When you collect your vehicle we require a credit card imprint or cash bond to secure the vehicle and your accident damage excess liability as well as any extra costs such as fuel fill up, emptying the toilet cassette, driving fines and infringements, losses or breakages or not returning the vehicle to the specified location on the required date etc.  The credit card must be valid for 28 days after the end of the hire. 

If no credit card is available the cash vehicle security bond will be NZ$4500 on all standard insurance policies,  NZ$2500 if Street Smart insurance is taken and $250 if  Freedom Plus insurance is taken (see below).  

The credit card imprint or cash will be held for 28 days after the return of the motorhome.

Please note that the Vehicle Security Deposit is not the accident damage excess liability and only secures the vehicle from non-vehicular accidents such as outlined above.

Road Diesel Tax
No charge.

Accidents and Breakdowns - 24 Hour Freephone Service
Any problems encountered with the vehicle or equipment must be reported to Pacific Horizon as soon as practicable.  Failure to do so will compromise any claim that may eventuate after the hire has finished.  Retrospective claims will not be accepted.

Minor repairs (when the hirer is not at fault) up to NZ$100 may be made without authorisation and will be reimbursed upon production of itemised receipt.  Amounts above NZ$100 require approval from Pacific Horizon and clients must retain an itemised receipt.

If you have an accident or breakdown the liability of Pacific Horizon Ltd, or its agents, extends to either replacing your vehicle with a similar one, or refunding your hire charge for any days you lose the total use of the vehicle.  Any additional accommodation costs are at your expense and you should ensure your travel insurance covers this.  All accidents must be reported by freephone to Pacific Horizon at once.

Vehicle Return
All vehicles must be returned with a full fuel tank and be filled up within 3km's of the drop off location. Refuelling at our Client Service Centre will be charged at our current ratees per 1/4 tank plus an admin fee.  Charges will apply should the vehicle be dropped off at a location other than that which was agreed upon.

Conditions of Hire

1. All prices, tariffs and costs are those applying at the time of publication and Pacific Horizon Ltd, or its agents, reserve the right to alter them at any time without notice.  Major credit cards are accepted: Mastercard, Visa and American Express (excludes Bankcard and Diners).
2. South Pacific Travellers' World will forward deposits and other payments to Pacific Horizon on your behalf, but SPTW is not Pacific Horizon's agent for the purpose of the receipt of monies.
3. Pacific Horizon Ltd accepts no responsibility for the detention, delay, loss, damage or injury which a hirer might experience no matter how or by whom it is caused.
4. Pacific Horizon's rental agreement is the sole contract for hiring the vehicle, between the company and the hirer and passenger(s).
5. No refunds are payable on accommodation or for days when motorhomes are not available, where the hirer or passenger amends, cancels or seeks to vary agreements after departure.
6. Pacific Horizon reserves the right to provide a comparably high standard vehicle where a booked vehicle becomes unavailable through servicing or reasons beyond its control.
7. Deposits and Payments - NZ$500 deposit is required at the time of confirmation, with final balance due 30 days prior to vehicle pickup.
8. Cancellations - NZ$100 cancellation fee for bookings cancelled once confirmed.  The NZ$500 deposit is forfeited if bookings are cancelled within 30 days of departure.  In addition, 20% of the hire cost will be charged if cancelled 8 - 25 days prior to pickup, 50% of the hire cost will be charged if cancelled 1-7 days prior to pick up. Cancellations and no shows on the day of pick up will be charged at 100% of hire.  No refunds for cancellations permitted after travel has commenced.
9. These conditions cannot be varied or altered or waived by any employee, agent or representative of the company or by anyone providing services or facilities.  The company cannot be bound by any representative or statement unless it is confirmed in writing by the company's directors or management.
