The Flying Kiwi Big Adventure

New Zealand is all about adventure travel and so is Flying Kiwi. Experience New Zealand adventure travel with the specialists.

By day you can explore awesome landscapes, hike breathtaking tracks, kayak turquoise waters, explore caves, experience Maori culture, raft dramatic rapids and much more. There is no pressure to participate – you can be as active or passive as you feel on the day. There are always cost-free alternatives.

Optional cycling is available for those who want to get a little more active. The Flying Kiwi pick up and drop off system enables you to cycle the distance that you choose.

If you enjoy hiking, Flying Kiwi offers a range of walks through some of New Zealand’s most diverse scenery.

During your trip you will have time to whale watch, sky dive, swim with dolphins, hike on a glacier, bungy, white water raft, horse trek, shoot the rapids in a jetboat, sail, sea kayak, go zorbing and, if you have the energy, much more.

There is no need for prior adventure experience but a basic level of fitness and positive attitude go a long way. Most travellers are between 18-45. Whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple or with friends, Flying Kiwi is an excellent option. Each trip carries up to a maximum of 30 travellers.

Flying Kiwi Coaches
The custom made Flying Kiwi vehicles carry bikes, camping gear and equipment, the food, hot & cold water, a kitchen, and even the kitchen sink! There is tonnes of storage space as well. It’s your home away from home.

Flying Kiwi Accommodation
Flying Kiwi tours stay in a combination of carefully chosen wilderness camps and fully-equipped camps. If the weather turns crook, you can usually upgrade to a cabin, lodge or chalet (subject to availability and at extra cost). You can either bring your own tent or hire a Flying Kiwi tent, with comfortable foam mattress and sleeping bag.

Flying Kiwi Meals
After a great day outdoors you’ll be wanting to enjoy good food. The food fund is a one off payment of about NZ$17 per day and includes most breakfasts, lunches, dinners, hot drinks and plenty of fruit. Flying Kiwi has a goldmine of wholesome recipes (including pasta, barbecue, salads, fresh fish and plenty of treats). Please tell us your dietary requirements when booking. Your guide does all the shopping, saving you time and money. Cooking is done in groups on a roster basis so you won’t spend every night cooking.

Flying Kiwi Guides
The key figure in all Flying Kiwi adventures is your guide. They are chosen for their natural people skills and respect for the environment and New Zealand culture. Your Flying Kiwi guides ensures your adventure is safe, well organised, fun and the experience of a lifetime.
