| Day 1: Auckland – Waitomo – Rotorua |
Highlights:
- fertile rural dairy landscapes of the Waikato region
- ancient Waitomo Caves – deep underground sculptured limestone caverns
- glide silently by boat through Glowworm Grotto to see glittering glowworms
- arrive at sparkling Lake Rotorua, surrounded by lush native busy

- try some adventure, 4WD trips, hike a volcano rim, or more sedate lake cruise, Maori village or rural farm experience

| Day 3: Rotorua – Wellington |

- through the rugged landscapes of the Buller Gorge to Westport
- giant limestone pancake rocks & crashing waves at Punakaiki
- lush rainforest and steep hills of Paparoa National Park
| Day 8: Punakaiki – Franz Josef |
