Day 1 Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua Distance: 483 kilometres Overnight accommodation in Rotorua, dinner and breakfast the next day An exhilarating ride south along the banks of the mighty Waikato River and through New Zealand’s largest dairy and sheep farming province. Passing through many small settlements along our way as we head for the King Country and the stunning Waitomo caves. It is here with the help of a guide that you get to experience this world famous cave formation. Marvel at the formations created by Mother Nature, drift silently in a boat and experience the Glow-worm cavern as it is lit up by thousands of tiny glow worm lights. We now head East through the rugged inland King Country around beautiful Lake Whakamaru through the Whakarewarewa Forest Park and into Rotorua. Tonight you will have the opportunity to relax in one of the many spa pools that surround this wonderful region.
Day 2 Rotorua – Auckland 262 kilometres Sightseeing is the order of the day. This morning we visit Te Puia Geothermal Reserve and Maori Arts and Craft Institute, where you can take a fully guided tour through this geothermal wonderland with the Pohutu Geyser and experience first hand New Zealand’s Maori Culture. It is now time for you to enjoy some lunch overlooking Lake Rotorua. Having enjoyed your lunch we now take a ride around this magnificent lake before our journey home through the pasturelands of Matamata and the Hauraki Plains. Arriving back in Auckland it is now time to gather your gear together and reflect on the wonderful time that has been had by all. Day 1 Auckland to Omapere Distance: 264 kilometres Overnight accommodation at Omapere, dinner and breakfast the next day This morning we make a start heading through Auckland (the City of Sails) going via Helensville, and then onto the Twin Coast Discovery Highway where we stop at the well known Matakohe Kauri museum. It is now time for lunch and time for you to discover some of the local history through this wonderful museum. After lunch we carry on through the grandeur of the Waipoua Forest to Tane Mahuta the oldest and largest surviving native Kauri tree in New Zealand. We then follow the western coastline along to Omapere where we will be staying tonight on the edge of the beautiful Hokianga Harbour.
Day 2 Omapere to Paihia Distance: 271 kilometres Overnight accommodation at Paihia, dinner and breakfast the next day This morning we catch the ferry across the Hokianga Harbour and head north following the Twin Coast Discovery Trail through the wonderful forests of Northland before making our way through to Doubtless Bay where we will be stopping for lunch in the wonderful seaside village of Mangonui. From here we make our way down through the historic town of Kerikeri and into the magnificent Bay of Islands where we will be staying in Paihia. After settling in for our second night you can sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful meal on this most beautiful harbour.
Day 3 Paihia to Auckland Distance: 232 kilometres This morning we start the day with a one and half hour journey out to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock, on a high speed boat. Once we are back on dry land its time to head off on the bikes on our return journey to Auckland making our way down the Eastern coastline, through Whangarei the major city in Northland taking a break at Waipu Cove and also at the Puhoi cheese making factory before our arrival back in Auckland.

Day 1 Auckland to Te Kaha Distance: 416 kilometres Overnight accommodation at Te Kaha, dinner and breakfast the next day This morning our journey begins with a magnificent ride along the Eastern Beaches of Auckland and into the gold mining region of Waihi where you will find New Zealand's largest open cast gold mine. From here we make our way through to the Bay of Plenty and the city of Tauranga where we will be stopping for a well deserved lunch break. After lunch it is time to head east along the enchanting Pacific Coast Highway before reaching Te Kaha our destination for tonight, staying in the local hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Day 2 Te Kaha to Gisborne Distance: 265 kilometres Overnight accommodation at Gisborne, dinner and breakfast the next day Today we have a great ride in front of us as we head east along the rugged and enchanting coastline of the Pacific Coast Highway to the East Cape, a place where the local Maori culture is still revered. After enjoying lunch in the small community of Te Araroa we again continue our journey this time heading south to Gisborne one of the main cities along the eastern seaboard for our overnight stop. It is here that cabin boy Nicholas Young was the first crewman on board Captain James Cook’s ship the Endeavour to sight New Zealand in 1769. Young Nick’s Head, the striking headland protecting the southern opening of Poverty Bay bears his name.
Day 3 Gisborne to Rotorua Distance: 439 kilometres Overnight accommodation at Rotorua, dinner and breakfast the next day This morning we leave for the beautiful Hawkes Bay, this region is well known for its fine Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. It is here that we will be stopping for a well deserved lunch break in Napier. The region was razed to the ground by a powerful earthquake in1931 and has since rebuilt itself to be known as the Art Deco capital of New Zealand. Having enjoyed lunch overlooking Hawkes Bay it is now time to head north through Taupo and onto Rotorua, the geothermal wonderland of New Zealand. Tonight you may like to relax in one of the many spa pools that surround this wonderful region.
Day 4 Rotorua to Auckland Distance: 181 kilometres Sightseeing is the order of the day. Day 2 Te Anau – Milford - Queenstown Distance: 403 kilometres Today we ride through the Fiordland National Park and into Milford Sound, it is here that you have the option of taking a boat cruise on these magnificent sounds. Back on dry land it is now time to reverse our tracks through this prehistoric landscape and continue our journey back to Queenstown.

Day 1 Queenstown to Dunedin 283 kilometres Overnight accommodation at Dunedin, dinner and breakfast the next day Our journey begins as we head east from Queenstown following the Kawarau River through Cromwell and onto Alexandra, a well known citrus producing area. Heading south we follow the banks of the mighty Clutha River as it winds its way through Roxburgh and onto Raes Junction. It is now time to stretch our legs and enjoy a wonderful country lunch. Having enjoyed your lunch it is now time to head to Lawrence and to explore the remains of the gold rush era. From here we ride into Dunedin for the night.
Day 2 Dunedin to Queenstown 310 kilometres Heading north along the eastern coastline we cruise to Palmerston before turning inland along Macraes Flat to view some of New Zealand’s largest mining operations. Having explored the mining operations of today it is now time to explore the historic gold rush towns of Naseby and St Bathans while enjoying lunch in this historic setting. Having spent the afternoon exploring this historic region it is now time to enjoy the cruise bacl as we head home to Queenstown

Day 1 Queenstown – Lake Tekapo – Mount Cook Village Distance: 263 kilometres / 163 miles Overnight accommodation at Mount Cook, dinner and breakfast the next day From the barren tussock fields of Queenstown to the Lindis Pass, watch out for the big blue. The lakes south of Mount Cook simply blow you away. The ride through the Lindis Pass is great riding territory as you cut through the southern most access point through the Southern Alps. We will be spending the night in Mount Cook Village surrounded by the majestic might of Aoraki/Mount Cook.
Day 2 Mount Cook Villa – Lake Tekapo - Queenstown Distance: 263 kilometres / 163 miles We have no way back but the same way that we came, still an awesome ride seeing all the views that were behind you on the way up to Mount Cook.

Day 1 Queenstown - Invercargill Distance: 256 kilometres / 159 miles Overnight accommodation at Invercargill, dinner and breakfast the next day We head off from Queenstown riding the southern shores of Lake Wakatipu to Kingston, we cruise through the farmlands of Southland to the small portside town of Riverton before reaching Invercargill, the southernmost city in the world, with its world famous Burt Munro museum. We spent the night in Invercargill.
Day 2 Invercargill – Caitlins - Dunedin Distance: 248 kilometres / 154 miles Overnight accommodation at Dunedin, dinner and breakfast the next day Recently fully sealed, this route is one of the last unspoilt areas of New Zealand to be discovered. Caitlins offers beautiful white sand beaches and quiet roads. As you ride through lush farmland there are many twists and turns and coastal views along this route. Arriving in the “Scottish City” of Dunedin for the night, we head out onto the Otago Peninsula to spend the night at Lanarch Castle with its stunning coastal views. There is also an albatross colony here and you may be lucky enough to see one soaring above us.
Day 3 Dunedin – Palmerston – Alexandra - Queenstown Distance: 310 kilometres / 193 miles SH85 which we take today is known locally at “The Pig Route” after a surveyor, named many of the streams after pigs! The ride takes us through lush green coastal farmlands as we ride higher into the sparse tussock clad landscape of the Maniototo Region, where you will be surprised to pass another vehicle on the roads! There are many long straights and sweeping corners and we head back to Queenstown.

Day 1 Christchurch – Blenheim Distance: 310 kilometres / 193 miles Overnight accommodation at Blenheim, dinner and breakfast the next day Today we ride leave the Garden City of Christchurch via the Waipara Valley vineyards and onto New Zealand’s seafood capital of Kaikoura for a seafood lunch, then continuing our stunning coastal ride up the east coast of the South Island into the Cloudy Bay wine region, where we will spend the night amongst the vineyards.
Day 2 Blenheim – Kaikoura including a Whale Watch Distance: 129 kilometres / 81 miles Overnight accommodation at Kaikoura, dinner and breakfast the next day Today we head back the way we came yesterday, seeing the view in reverse along this wonderful coastline, stopping at Nins Binn for a lobster, before heading into Kaikoura for a whale watch – an amazing experience seeing this massive aquatic creatures from such close quarters. We then settle into Kaikoura for the night.
Day 3 Kaikoura – Hanmer Springs - Christchurch Distance: 264 kilometres / 164 miles Next day it is time to head back to Christchurch, but we take the different inland route heading back past Mount Liford ski field and onto the town of Hanmer Springs, famed for its thermal pools and here we can rest awhile and try out the pools. We then continue on our journey back to the Garden City, passing through the tail end of the Lewis Pass and back into the Waipara Valley vineyards.
