These New Zealand coach tours offer quality hotels, optional meal plans and comfortable coach travel by ultra modern touring coaches.  With a comprehensive range of convenient departure dates throughout the year, you can choose a time to suit your schedule.

These escorted coach tours are a great way to see and enjoy New Zealand at an easy pace and represent good value for money. They depart either Auckland or Christchurch on set departure dates. Your driver/guide will be your escort and you will be travelling in ultra modern, superbly appointed touring coaches. 
Occasionally, to practically accommodate small groups, smaller coaches may be substituted.  They will invariably have similar features to those illustrated.  Similarly, due to operational requirements and seasonal demand, groups may travel in vehicles with a different livery, however technical aspects will be comparable.

"Hotels with hospitality" feature in every itinerary. All rooms have a private bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities, television, direct dial telephone and radio. In the main cities, hotels are located within a few minutes' walk of the downtown areas. In resorts with 2 night stops, shopping and sightseeing activities are close at hand. In regional locations emphasis is on proximity to New Zealand's superb natural features - lakes, rivers, National Park, forests and mountains.

New Zealand Dining

Optional meal plans are offered and highly recommended. Over 90% of travellers purchase the full meal plan, which includes dinners and breakfasts. Please refer to the pricing panel featured with each tour. The Breakfast Supplement includes full cooked breakfast and the Dinner Supplement includes either table service with selections from a 3 course menu or buffet style offering an extensive choice to well satisfy both the discerning diner and largest appetite.
All meal plans begin on Day 2 and conclude after breakfast on the final day.  The number of meals included is clearly specified in each cost panel.  Medical and dietary requirements should be noted at the time of booking and are subject to confirmation of availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Special Feature Dinners
All tours, regardless of meal option, include the Maori Hangi and Concert in Rotorua and in Queenstown either the "Taste of New Zealand" carvery dinner at the Skyline Restaurant or on the TSS Earnslaw at Walter Peak high country sheep station.

All tours offer a diverse cross-section of New Zealand's favourite sightseeing activities. Details of these inclusions are shown in each itinerary. Sightseeing is prebooked so you don't have to queue for tickets or risk missing out.

All the touring coaches are ultra modern, superbly appointed and fully air-conditioned to ensure comfortable travelling. Large vista windows, armchair-style seating, ample leg room, the latest in stereo and public address systems and air bag suspension all combine to make sure you can relax and enjoy your holiday.

Seat Rotation Plan
Coach Captains on all tours maintain a daily seat rotation plan to ensure you get to know all your travelling companions and enjoy the scenery from a different vantage point each day.  Particular seats cannot be guaranteed for any passengers due to this rotation policy.

Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted on board the coaches and is therefore restricted to the frequent sightseeing, photo and comfort stops.  Where possible, non-smoking hotel rooms will be requested for the entire tour group.  Travellers who prefer accommodation without such limitations are asked to make their preference known when making reservations.  Please note that due to varying hotel policies it is not possible to guarantee either option.  Some hotels maintain a 100% smoke free policy.

As well as professional driving skills, your Coach Captain will share with you an in-depth knowledge of New Zealand, its history, culture and lots of special anecdotes.  He or she will also advise on optional sightseeing activities for your free time.

The travel kit includes a strong backpack, distinctive ticket wallet containing your itinerary, hotel list, baggage labels, all necessary vouchers, notebook, pan, postcards, maps and sightseeing information. This will be available at the beginning of your tour.  You will also receive a DVD postcard that you can keep as a momento of your trip.

The itineraries are featured on a "terminal to terminal" basis. Should you require airport transfers and accommodation before and after your Kirra Tour, please let us know and we will be pleased to make arrangements for you. 

Important Note:  From 01 May 2010 the pre and post tour nights will be INCLUDED in the tour, thus extending each itinerary by 2 days. Airport arrival and departure transfers on the first day and last day are included.

You can extend your stay at the gateway cities before and after your tour, using the special hotel rates below.  Please note that single travellers choosing the share twin option will be booked single rooms for pre and post tour accommodation.

We recommend that you use smaller, lighter, and therefore more manageable luggage rather than large, cumbersome pieces. Each item should weigh no more than 20kg. Recommended maximum suitcase dimensions are 75cm x 50cm x 30cm.  Space allows for one suitcase per person.  Baggage handling/porterage is included in your tour.

Kirra Tours is one of  the few companies who recognise the very special Christmas and New Year festivities by hosting a Cocktail Party for all tour members. The hotels offer special menus and the tour company covers any additional cost for those with the Dinner Supplement included.

All itineraries can be broken into modules to suit your specific needs. Many travellers break their journey to visit friends or to enjoy other activities such as the Milford Track Guided Walk before rejoining a later tour. These arrangements are easily made at the time of booking and no cost surcharges are imposed (excludes February/March).

A Coach Tour Holiday is ideal if you are travelling alone; a great opportunity to meet other people and make new friends. Travellers are made up of couples, friends and single travellers from all age groups and walks of life. You will be welcome. 

Rooming Options: Choose either the guaranteed single room option or request twin share in which case you will be matched with another traveller of the same gender or if this is not possible provide a single room at no extra cost. Compatability cannot be guaranteed and this offer is conditional on acceptence of this factor and not smoking in your bedroom regardless the hotel's policy.

Travellers on a request twin share basis may secure a single room whilst on tour, subject to availability and payment of the applicable surcharge. 

Pre and post tour accommodation must be at the single price.

For 3 people booking together and sharing the same room a 5% discount applies to the tour content. Pre and post tour prices are readily available on request. Please note most room configurations are double or twin in which case the third bed is likely to be a rollaway. Four adults sharing is not possible.  Discount does not apply to tours incuding the Milford Sound Overnight Cruise.

Children are most welcome. A New Zealand coach holiday is a great learning and family fun opportunity. Children's costs are based on sharing a room with 2 adult fare paying passengers or one paying the single surcharge, and must be on the same meal basis.
