Queensland, Australia

Perhaps choose beautiful Brisbane, known as the City of Sun Days.  Great weather, a relaxed pace of life and all the cosmopolitan bustle of a major international city. Brisbane is gateway to the world famous Gold Coast, Australia, a 70 kilometre stretch of coastline with some 35 white sand beaches. This region boasts lush rainforest hinterland, sensational shopping, world-class entertainment, sparkling beaches and theme parks.  Inland you will find rainforests with World Heritage protection.

North of Brisbane is the aptly named Sunshine Coast, Australia – a stretch of stunning white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters and rolling green mountains.  This is home to one of Australia’s many famous resort towns, Noosa, with beaches and ocean inviting every kind of aquatic adventure – surfing, sailing, deep sea fishing.  Just off the coast is World Heritage listed Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world.

Further north is the Topical North Queensland region – home to the Great Barrier Reef, which gained World Heritage status in 1981.  This is the world’s largest and most complex expanse of living coral.  There are daily cruises and dive boat excursions to the Reef and Whitsunday Islands.

Cairns, Queensland, is the major centre of the region and access point for the Great Barrier Reef, Port Douglas, the Daintree,  Cape Tribulation and the Whitsunday Islands.  Isolated, tropical palm-fringed beaches, World Heritage listed rain forests and the sunburnt Outback.

Sydney, New South Wales

One of Australia’s most famous and vibrant cities is spectacular Sydney.  Blessed with one of the world’s most photographed harbours, the Sydney Harbour Bridge vies for attention with the Sydney Opera House.  Sydney lives and breathes the arts and culture, entertainment and sports events, superb food, wine and shopping.  The harbour is a perfect playground for sailing, swimming and fishing.  Famous surf beaches such as Bondi Beach and Manly Beach, spectacular Darling Harbour and chic shopping all make Sydney a vibrant destination.

Australia is famous for its unique wildlife – kangaroos, koalas, wallabies and the Tasmanian devil – and it’s abundant sea life.

Holidays in Australia can mean tropical beaches, luxury resorts, superb restaurants and cafes and gourmet food.  Australia is cosmopolitan cities such as Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, Perth and Canberra as well as colonial townships serving the vast farming country.  Rugged national parks, dusty deserts, mysterious rock formations – Australia is truly a vast land of contrast.
