Depart Wanaka this morning and journey to the alpine resort of Queenstown. Tonight enjoy our Dine Around Dinner, where you may choose from 14 different restaurants.

this area, immortalised in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, or a Double Decker bus tour

This morning visit the Matakohe Pioneer Museum and Waipoua Kauri Forest Reserve. Travel to the Bay of Islands, and visit the Waitangi Treaty House, the Maori Meeting House and see the War Canoe.

Two Night Stay: Bay of Islands, Waitangi Resort

  Travel to Milford  in the heart of the Fiordland National Park and cruise the full length of this beautiful fiord, travelling below the famous mile-high Mitre Peak.
This afternoon continue to the lakeside township of Te Anau.

The Bay of Islands is the birthplace of the nation and home to 144 islands to create an aquatic playground.

  Journey through beautiful Southland to Dunedin, settled by the Scottish and renowned as the Edinburgh of the South.

This morning our Bay of Islands cruise takes us to Cape Brett and the Hole in the Rock. Return this afternoon to Auckland.

  Travel north along the coast to view the Moeraki Beach boulders. Stop at Oamaru, a town renowned for its limestone buildings, then journey to Aoraki Mount cook National Park where you join your selected Freedom of Choice Touring activity.
This evening stay at The Hermitage with Mt Cook views.

 Day 6 Auckland, Waitomo, Rotorua (B, FD)    Day 17 Mt Cook, Christchurch (BD)

Leaving the City of Sails we travel south through the rich dairy land of the Waikato Province. At Waitomo Caves experience a guided tour of the limestone caverns and glow worm grotto. Tonight, in Rotorua, enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and cultural performance of song and dance at the Mitai Maori Village.

  We travel through Burkes Pass to the plains of Canterbury. On the way to Christchurch, you may choose to take the scenic TranzAlpine Train from Arthurs Pass. Alternatively continue with the coach through the Rakaia Gorge to Christchurch. This evening choose from three restaurants at your hotel.

 Day 7 Rotorua (BD)    Day 18 Christchurch, Wellington (BD)
You choose the activity and we will include it. You may like to soak in a thermal mineral pool at the Polynesian Spa, perhaps see the ‘Must See Three’ activities of Rotorua  – view New Zealand’s native and endangered kiwi bird at Rainbow Springs and at the Agrodome enjoy a sheep show and shearing display.

Journey south and view Wairakei Steam Valley, a unique geothermal power project. View Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake and Huka Falls. Cross the vast volcanic plateau of Tongariro National Park to Wellington, the nation’s capital city and home to New Zealand’s parliament.
Stay: Wellington, Hotel InterContinental
  Travel through farming districts to the coastal town of Napier.  Time to explore this unique Art Deco city before continuing on to the lakeside town of Taupo.
Stay: Taupo, Wairakei Resort
 Day 9 Wellington, Nelson (BD)    Day 20 Taupo, Auckland (BD)
Cruise across beautiful Cook Strait through Marlborough Sound to the South Island. Rejoin our coach and continue to Nelson. Tonight you choose from two fine restaurants located within your hotel.
Stay: Nelson, Rutherford Hotel
  Near Taupo visit Wai-O-Tapu Wonderland, a geothermal area well knowns for its beautiful colours and mystical quality.  Then visit Kiwfruit Country before travelling to the beach resort of Mount Maunganui and on to Tauranga. Continue on to Auckland.

Today we follow the Heritage Highway through to the wild and rugged West Coast. View the Pancake rock formations at Punakaiki. Continue along the West Coast and enter World Heritage-listed Westland National Park. This evening enjoy famous West Coast Hospitality as you dine on regional specialities.

  Your tour concludes this morning. A transfer to the airport is included.

View incredible scenery today as we travel through Haast Pass and over the Southern Alps. Continue to Wanaka township, originally settled during the gold rush era of last century and surrounded by Mt Aspiring National Park.
